I sware Bianca is the worst of everything sometimes. Worst sleeper, worst eater, ect. Today we worked on nap training. I put her in her room for an hour and she cried to get out the whole time. After an hour I let her out. We then worked on some potty training and she was wearing her tinker bell underwear, she got up on the coffee table and proceeded to pee all over it. Now she is cranky, wet, and wants candy. The only things she eats are: milk, strawberries (which we now have to cut back on bc they are causing a bad rash on her), spaghettios, nuggets, bacon, pepperoni, fries, and lime yogurt, occasionally I can get her to eat a piece of toast with butter. Other foods she won't try or if she does she ends up throwing them up when they get to the back of her throat.
I heard about that book deceptively delicious on Oprah yesterday and her secret is that she purees veggies and adds them to foods she cooks for her kids. I am planning on trying that, except the only thing I will be able to use it on are brownies with Bianca, maybe nuggets, we'll have to see. I just feel like she is undernourished and overtired all the time. I am trying so hard to get her better at both of these but today I am just complaining I guess because I feel fed up. I haven't gotten anything done today, except Bianca and I killed a cricket in her room. Ever have one of these days? Please tell me I'm not the only one.
Rough day, huh? Just keep doing what you're doing. You're a good mom. Maybe she's just going to be super picky. Wyatt will probably be the opposite.
ReplyDeleteStay firm on the naps, I think over time she will get used to it.
Terrible twos?
don't worry your not the only one, I'm having the same problem with Ali, the only thing i can get her to eat is french fries, cheese and dairy products every now and then she'll eat something off the wall like mushrooms but other then that she's extreamly picky, she's also started fighting nap time already.
ReplyDeleteoh liz I'm so sorry- no we all have days like that. Hopefully Bianca will start to behave better:)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's tough. But like Jennifer said, chances are Wyatt will eat everything you give him. For me, I was spoiled by Ben who LOVES veggies--I mean his favorite treat is red bell pepper rings, for goodness sake! Then along comes Katy who will ONLY eat cheese and raisins. I read somewhere that sometimes kids have to try something 40 times before they like it. That sneaking pureed veggies into food sounds like a good strategy. Good luck!
