Today I went to my 26 week appointment with my OBGYN. We talked about options for labor and delivery. We are planning on scheduling a c-section in the 39th week which would be about August 1st, unless I go into labor earlier, the Dr. said we could see how I progress and if it's going well I may not have to have the c-section. If I am not progressing with early labor they will take the baby by c-section again because there is a risk of uterine burst. In that case the mother and baby die so we don't want to take that risk.
I also did my glucose screening today. That was a lot of fun, NOT. That drink is sooo sweet and you have to drink so much of it. But I think I passed. I did not have gestational diabetes with Bianca and I don't think I have it with Wyatt either. I'm glad Eric went with me this time because I usually have to lie down for the blood draws or else I pass out. This time there was nowhere for me to lay down and I said I would be okay, but Eric told the nurse I need to lay down so we went into an exam room to do it, and I was close to passing out, I probably would have if I wasn't laying down, I know I am such a wuss! Bianca watched them take my blood and Eric said she got all sweaty, she was nervous for Mama too. We came home and I held her while she fell asleep, happy as both our check-ups were over for now.
You're just like my mom used to be with needles. She said she used to pass out too.
ReplyDeleteThat is not the most pleasant test. Although, the orange "soda" they give you here I actually liked?? Weird.
Glad to hear everything is going well. Put up another belly shot!
It's weird because I don't mind shots, just blood work. I don't want to put another belly shot up! Maybe I'll think about it.
