Cradle Cap tip

Not sure if I spelled that right but some of you may already know this about me. I am a groomer. I'm constantly looking in my kids ears to make sure they're clean, clipping their nails, making them wash their hands. I'm also a picker. Which means if there is anything to picked at from a zit to a splinter, I'll see it and get it. So when my babies get cradle cap I have a really hard time just letting it sit there. I just try not to look at it and wash their hair a lot even though it doesn't seem to help. Well now I know something that does! A friend of my husbands is a pediatrician and told him that head and shoulders gets rid of those cradle cap pieces of skin! I thought I'd give it a try and it totally works! Love it! Thought I would add it here to my list of tips.

  1. (This is Rachel Mecham. I can't get blogger to post anything bug "anonymous") Hmmm, makes sense, 'cause cradle cap is a lot like dandruff! I guess you just have to be really careful to not get any dandruff shampoo in baby's eyes (ouch!). Another thing I tried that sorta worked was using a fingernail cleaning brush (like the kind they give you in the hospital for the baby) and scrub the head a lot while you shampoo.

  2. Seriously? Man, I don't know why we never tried that. Andy and I used it all the time. We did Vaseline with Scarlet and then Ada has some stuff now and we're using a special Neutrogena deal- T-Jel I think it's called. Stinks but is working okay. Her stuff still isn't gone yet but it's getting there.
