Cradle Cap tip
Not sure if I spelled that right but some of you may already know this about me. I am a groomer. I'm constantly looking in my kids ears to make sure they're clean, clipping their nails, making them wash their hands. I'm also a picker. Which means if there is anything to picked at from a zit to a splinter, I'll see it and get it. So when my babies get cradle cap I have a really hard time just letting it sit there. I just try not to look at it and wash their hair a lot even though it doesn't seem to help. Well now I know something that does! A friend of my husbands is a pediatrician and told him that head and shoulders gets rid of those cradle cap pieces of skin! I thought I'd give it a try and it totally works! Love it! Thought I would add it here to my list of tips.

Excedrin Tension Headache
If you've been following this blog you know that I'm pregnant and if you know me well you know that I suffer from migraines. I take or did take imitrex before I was pregnant but for obvious reasons am unable to take that now. I spoke to the Dr. about what I could take and he gave me the dreaded answer of only Tylenol, which doesn't do jack for my migraines. So after having one for four days I was unable to sleep and decided to call the nurse for any tips she might have. She asked me if I had taken any caffeine with my tylenol. I had not because I don't typically drink caffeinated drinks. She told me that Excedrin Tension Headache is just acetaminophen with about the amount of caffeine you would get from a cup of coffee. I never got this tip from any nurses while I was pregnant with my last two children, and I wish I would have known! I took the gelcaps today and THANK GOODNESS, they actually worked! I still feel a little bit of a headache but it's nothing like it was, and I can sleep tonight! I'm was so grateful that I called the nurse back and thanked her. It really does make a difference when you find someone who actually cares and will try their best to help you.
With that being said I know that caffeine is still not the best for the baby but it is a lot safer than any prescription meds. I figure I will put up with the headaches and only take the excedrin when they persist or keep me from sleeping. Luckily when pregnant I don't tend to get as many.

Home remedies
Recently I've discovered a lot of small bits of information that have been very beneficial so I thought I would share:
- Rubbing vix vapor rub on the bottom of my children's feet and then putting socks on them at bedtime helps my kids not to cough at night. (When they are sick with coughs)
- Just today I cut up a serrano chili pepper and then washed my hands thinking all the remnants were gone, then I rubbed my eye, OUCH! Those chilis would not come off my skin no matter how many times I washed. So I googled what to do and found from a blog that "washing" your hands with olive oil will get the chilis off your skin. Thank you fellow blogger! Now I can take my contact lenses out tonight!
- If you have a mosquito bite and don't have any calamine around to put on it and it's itching like crazy you can make a paste with a little baking soda and water and apply to the itchy area and it will stop! Love it.
