That's how he rolls

My husband is a coupon pro. No joke. Sometimes I tell people that my husband does all the grocery shopping and they think I'm kidding. I'm not. This works out well for me since I have two young children I would have to tote through the store and because I hate grocery shopping in general.
Back to the coupons...I told him he should teach the relief society in our church about his tactics. He saves us TONS of money. He is so good at using the coupons that a lot of times he gets food for pennies and sometimes even free. Here he is cutting out his coupons:

This is our food storage in our basement. We have so much food down there now that I call it my little store. If I'm running low on ingredients I go shopping downstairs. It's really nice to have. Although at first I was skeptical. And I have to say that I think sometimes Eric is somewhat addicted to buying all the food. It's like a game for him to see how to get the best deals. But hey, it's not a dangerous addiction, and we're following the prophet's counsel of having food storage right! (: I just see all that food and panic about how I can use it all up so none goes to waste. I also think of so many people who have so little and I want share. Eric has talked about taking excess food to the nearby food banks, which makes me happy. He comes home every day with groceries to make sure we are fully stocked.

The kids love to help put items away. Once in a while they will make a game of it too.

We tell them to be careful with the things we have down there. Bianca can be dramatic and decided to treat the items like little babies. Here she is cuddling a baby barbecue sauce. Oh dear.

Like Father, like son......

Eric really does so much for our family and for me as a wife and Mother. I am so grateful to have such a resourceful husband. Thanks for all you do Rico, and for taking such good care of us, we love you!

  3. go rico! yeah, so i found out that meijer here is totally lame and so i'm not even trying anymore. they only honor prices that are in their weekly printed ad, and if it's online and NOT in their ad, it doesn't 'matter. so most of the super good deals don't work for meijer. anyway! i'm glad rico's found a new cheap passion! good for everyone all around!

  7. That is SOOOO cool! I'd gladly give up grocery shopping if Mike did that for us! I like having our food storage be made up of food we normally eat too-makes it easier to rotate it into our usual meals. Keep it up!
