"faci"

Daddy put his foot down and said Wyatt needed to lose the pacifier so we compromised. (: Not that I want him to have his pacifier forever but I have a hard time taking away the comfort items, plus I have to admit I love the pacifier teeth, which I should never encourage being an ex dental assistant. Bianca had her pacifier until she was almost 4, she had the rounded teeth in front and after not using the paci for about 6 months her teeth went right back to normal.

Anyway we decided to let him use his pacifier only while napping or sleeping.
Today is the 3rd day of doing this and he's transitioning slowly. Although he did ask to take his nap at 11:30 (he usually takes it at 1:00). And later in the afternoon when he felt a little cranky and tired he asked for his paci so I took him up and let him sit in his bed and read while he sucked his paci for about 10 minutes. Then he put it back on his pillow and came downstairs. He's getting the idea but it's definitely taking more time than it did with Bianca, probably because he's a lot younger.

Today Eric and I were just commenting on how cute he is without his pacifier, we can see his little mouth, and he's talking a lot clearer too, imagine that! Hopefully I can stick to my guns and the next couple of days will go smoothly as well.

  1. Oh man, good luck. We haven't attempted that one yet. We're on day 9 of potty training, but I feel the binky issue surfacing it's ugly head. It just doesn't seem right to do both at the same time. Maybe next month.
