My new hobby

I'm not sure what it is that I like so much about it, but I do love to mow the lawn. I love to see the grass fly out of the side of the mower, to smell the cut grass, and I love love to make semi perfect lines on the lawn. Growing up in Cali I never really had much of a lawn to mow. In fact I don't even remember my Dad owning a lawn mower.
Here in Ohio it is SOOOO green everywhere. People don't even have sprinklers, the rain takes care of everything. Sometimes it will rain for 15 minutes, and then there are some nights, like last night, where there will be a thunderstorm lasting for hours. Every day no matter what time of day or weather (Ok except in a couple of the winter months.) you can hear a lawn mower going in one place or another.

Eric did all the mowing when we first got here. Then I got the urge to do it myself one day when I was home with the kids. I felt almost embarressed to be seen doing it, it's usually the men who do it in our neighborhood, but I went for it and it was a lot of fun. Besides, if you've ever seen our back yard, You would know that Eric has his hands full with the hill alone. Our property goes all the way to the trees. So I figured that I would tell Eric to take care of the hill and I would do the front and back yards, and I love it.

Now that I'm writing this I realize that this might be the most boring post I've ever done for some of you, but it's my newfound passion so I thought I'd let you in on it. (: I also enjoy weeding (maybe I miss dentistry) a little too much and love to weed wack, making the corners of the house and lawn straight and presentable. I'm seriously considering asking for an electric trimmer for my next birthday so I can trim all the foliage in our yard, but something tells me Eric won't be too thrilled with my request.....
