I remember the first time Bianca dressed herself. I was so proud of her. (You have got to click on this pic to make it bigger and see her cute expression.)And I wasn't surprised that she chose stripes and polka dots, that's probably the first thing she saw. Before I continue let me just say that I think letting a child do something themselves and praising them for it is important. Even more important is showing them that you are proud, for example, I let Bianca choose her clothes and then let her actually wear them out in public. I didn't care about the rude looks I got at the mall or wherever because I was proud of her and she was proud of herself. Soo..... this was when she was 2 1/2. And it was her first time,

That being said, now she is 3 1/2 and this may be her last time dressing herself. The outfit is ok until you get to the pants and go down. And yes her shoes are on the wrong feet, and yes, they are heels. I did however let her wear this to Sam's Club tonight but as we were there I thought, "she's going to be in Preschool soon and I probably need to start intervening at some point". I want her to feel competent, so I'll just guide her little by little. She's such a cute girl that I just think she always looks cute.
And as far as the hair, she didn't get hair until she was about 2, and the minute she did I was at her with bows, and barrettes, and she wouldn't have any of it. So, I just leave it. One step at a time.

Wyatt is finally getting some hair, after his bath I like to pull the curls out in the back. I tried to get some good pics but it was kind of hard, I hope you can see them. I think they are super cute....

Love the outfit. Sienna refuses to let me pick her outfits out and has since she was like 2, but our problem is that she wants to wear the same thing EVERY day. Kids are funny and I just have to laugh at what they think looks good. Bianca is too cute!
ReplyDeletecute! Yes, I guide emma in what she chooses to wear.It gets pretty crazy in that bedroom. I love Wyatt's curls. Claire's hair is really long in the back because it curls up. I might cut it though, I don't want her to have mullet hair.
ReplyDeletethe kids are so cute- that picture of Bonk is so funny! miss and love you guys!:)
ReplyDeleteBianca is stylin'! Love the shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a good Mama, one step at a time is great! Rylee is 6 1/2 and she still dresses silly! It's all good!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a good Mommy. (Funny, I just read the other comments after I typed that sentence only to discover that the person before me said the same exact thing! Must be true. :)) Anyway, love the expression on her face in both pics, and Wyatt's curls are so sweet.
