Time to remember

So I heard this song on the radio the other day that brought back a ton of my childhood memories. It's called "Time to remember" by Billy Joel. It's funny how a song can bring so many thoughts and feelings to me. It was fun to listen to it and reminisce. These are the things I thought of:
  • going to beach bonfires ( I grew up in southern California)
  • riding my bike home as fast as I could in the dark
  • dancing in my driveway with my mom and the neighborhood kids
  • catching frogs and putting them in my barbie dollhouse
  • walking to 7-11 to get those little 5 cent candies
  • driving in the car with Dad listening to Randy Newman
  • exploring the construction sites near my house, I would take a little bag with me of things I needed and be gone all day
  • swimming with my cousins at Grandma's house in the summers
We saw Ratatouille last week and I loved it because there was a part where a very stingy critic gets blown away by the dish the cook makes for him because it reminds him of a dish his mother used to make him when he was a child. There are only a few things that can bring back those precious memories of our pasts, for me it was this song and I'm glad I got to revisit those times again in my mind if only for a few minutes.

  1. I love that song, but mainly I associate it with an NBA Superstars video that our neighbors had. That was the song that they used with a bunch of highlights from the black and white era of NBA video clips.
