I got a letter from Bianca's teacher inviting her grandparents to come visit the school on grandparents day (today) . She has no Grandparents that live close by and as much as they love her they aren't going to be able to make it out for this occasion. I'm actually kind of annoyed that they have this day because everything they have going on at school revolves around those activities so I'm sure that Bianca and anyone else who doesn't have a grandparent there would feel really left out. They've got a whole program and everything.
Despite my annoyance the one good thing is that they are allowing the kids to invite "special people" in place of a grandparent if they aren't able to come. I asked Bianca who she wanted to invite and she replied, "The Erskine's". They are her Sunday school teachers at Church. I told them on Sunday that I had kind of an odd request but they gratefully accepted and are looking forward to the event, thank goodness! Now she won't have to watch everyone else in her class do activities with their grandparents, and we could not have asked for better people to stand in place of her own. She is so excited about today that right after she woke up she put a dress on and came downstairs while the rest of us were still in pajamas! I've been trying to post this cute video of her singing the grandparents song for her own grandma's and grandpa's but it isn't loading right so I'll keep trying.
she is such a sweetie- yeah that is dumb I don't like that either- makes kids who don't have grandparents alive or close enough bad that they're not there- I'm glad she gets to have other people there that she likes- I love that girl.
