Thanksgiving +

So much to say and so little time! Ahh, I have about 1/2 hr to post before Wyatt wakes up and I go to pick Bianca up from preschool, so here goes...
We had my sister Staci and her 3 kids out for Thanksgiving. I always like to get the cousins together whenever possible. I remember seeing my cousins every Summer and it was so fun. So here are all of them except Ada. The adults watched Hairspray, while the kids watched Peter Pan on the small DVD player. I thought it was cute how they all huddled up.

My sister brought Twister and the kids had a blast with it. It was easy to play with them too because their rules were that after every hand and foot was placed the game was over. So nothing too twisty going on. (:

Isaiah spinned for Bianca and vice versa. They just loved bossing each other around. haha.

Bianca and Isaiah really played well together. They didn't even have one fight that I can remember, which is a first. It's so sweet how much they love each other. Bianca was sad when they left but we are going to see them again in a few days! Love that they only live 2 hrs away.

Here is where the + comes in. There are some little things I want to remember about the kiddies. Here is how Wyatt was supposed to look for Halloween but he refused to wear the cape until afterwards. SOOO him. I love the face he is making here. Little sly guy. One thing Wyatt likes to do lately is put on makeup with me. I don't remember Bianca ever showing an interest but Wyatt is very observant of what I do. He watches me and gets up on a little stool and plays with the makeup that I let him have (old brushes and a tiny bit of powder and lotion). He's also talking a TON now. He likes to close doors while someone is in a room and tell them, "Be back OK?" He's also starting to pay closer attention to the stories we read him and gets concerned for the characters. For example I read him "The Nose Book" by Dr. Seuss and there is a page where it talks about noses getting sunburned. He likes this page the best and talks about it and stares at it. One time after reading it I put him in bed and he said, "Mommy, don't get owies on your nose from the sun, OK?" On the way to school today we saw some plastic nativity set on a lawn and Wyatt LOVED it. He told me while dropping Bianca off at school that he wanted to go see the baby Jesus again. Then we drove by again and he said, "Shhh Mommy, baby's sleeping". He's so funny.

Bianca and Wyatt have been getting along better than ever, and their fights are getting bigger than ever. But let's focus on the positive. (: I don't know what Wyatt would do without her. Seriously, one day when she was at a friends birthday party it was just him and I and he was at me 24/7. He's so used to following Bianca around and doing everything she does that he was lost when she was gone. When she is at preschool he is usually napping so he doesn't miss her then.
Here they are making funny noises and cracking each other up. While doing crafts. Bianca has been a very good big sister. Just today I was upstairs putting away laundry and I came down and found both the kids on the couch watching Caillou with a blanket on. Bianca had gotten Wyatt some string cheese and some crackers and juice. She can sometimes be rough on him, but overall she looks out for him and helps him. She leads him around and says, do this or that and calls him buddy. One thing Bianca has started to express is her love for us even when we get upset. This came from our example I'm sure because if we ever get mad at her or put her in time out, we say afterwards, "I still love you Bianca, but you can't act that way." So the other night I was leaving to go to a meeting at church and she gave me a kiss and said, "Mommy, I still love you even if you get mad at me for being cranky ok?" (She was cranky earlier and threw a candy cane and it split into a million pieces on the wood floor.) I thought what she said was cute though, and I'm glad she gets the concept.

One game that has always been popular in our house is hide and seek. Wyatt usually hides with Bianca but this time he decided to hide by himself. I thought this was hilarious. I guess he figures I can't see him if he can't see me.

Eric insisted on putting the tree up before Thanksgiving, which turned out all right, it just felt a little soon for me. But the kids of course loved it, they had such serious faces while decorating.

That's been our last couple of weeks in a nutshell. (: I feel so much better now being caught up a little. Hope you all had an enjoyable turkey day!

  1. Your kids are growing up so fast. I can't beieve how long and dark Bianca's hair is getting. Looks like you had a busy/fun weekend.
