WyWy - 23 months.

We've had a super busy but fun week with birthday parties, get togethers, and play dates that I want to post about. But before I do I want to take a minute to update about my little Wy Wy.

He's been changing and growing so fast. His 2nd birthday is coming up already in July and I just can't believe it. He is talking up a storm now. He is definitely a "Mama's boy" and is constantly at my side or in my arms. He comes up to me often at home and says, "C'mon, follow me" and waves his hand for me to follow. Then he'll take me to the swing outside or to the fridge for something to eat. I think he learns so much from his big sister. Every morning we go outside to say good bye to Daddy when he leaves for work and Wyatt will say, "Have a day!" because Bianca tells him to Have a good day.

He mimicks everything she does. He loves to play dress up and even wears her shoes around the house on occasion. Daddy is not going to like this picture. (: I won't post the one where he has toenail polish on...
Bianca loves it because Wyatt now listens to her and follows her instructions. She will say, "Wyatt watch this" as she goes down the slide for example and he will shout, "WOW!" She loves the attention he gives her. It's very sweet of Wyatt and he really is sincere in his praise. He just thinks she is the neatest person to watch and follow.

They have begun to fight more along with playing more. Wyatt mostly will initiate it. Not sure if it's a boy thing but he will go up to her and hit her, or his favorite trick is to scream in a super high pitched tone because it scares her and then he will run after her. He especially likes to do this in grocery stores or restaurants which is not so amusing. Somehow covering his mouth doesn't help him to stop doing it. I figure they will probably be at each other every now and then, it's just a brother sister thing. He likes to count with me when we play hide and seek at home. Then we will go look for Bianca and he looks in a room and then says, "Not in der!" (Not in there...) It is the cutest.

Wyatt's favorite food currently is popsicles. He asks for one every morning. "I wan popsil." He says. It's a fight to get him to eat breakfast but I am so happy that he eats whatever I am eating. So all I have to do really is get myself some breakfast and he will join me. He's still avoiding milk like the plague, even chocolate!, but he eats a lot of cheese and yogurt so I hope he's getting the calcium he needs.
I have bought over 4 pairs of shorts this Summer for him and none have fit. They just fall right off of him. I may have to try the 12-18 months size. And for shirts he is still wearing 18-24 months. He seems to be like Bianca in that he doesn't want to take time to eat. I find myself feeding him after meals like outside in btwn playing he will take bites of food. It's so hard to get my kids to just sit and eat. By the time I get them their food and sit down they are done! Anyway hopefully he will get more of an appetite soon and be able to wear his big ol 2T clothes. haha.
Wyatt says prayers very well and folds his arms on his own whenever we say the word prayer. He's very good in his nursery class at church. I think there is one other kid in there who is his age but the rest are all older and he does well. He cried for the first few times we took him but now he knows the teachers and the other kids. I love to go pick him up after class because he will tell me all about what he did. I can't understand it all but I love that he is trying to express himself.

  1. He is growing up so fast. I love the way siblings play together and interact. It's especially funny to see how they like to do everything the older one does. He's a cutie.

  3. So cute Liz! Can't believe how big he is. I love "Have a day!" You're right it is a boy thing for the boy to just go on over and hit a girl. It's a whole new world with a little boy in the house! But at the same time they can be so sweet and just melt your heart.

  4. Wow how the time flies! I agree with the hitting being a boy thing. I even read somewhere that males in general express their affection for females by teasing them. So he's just saying "I love you" when he screams at her and chases her. Right? :)
