Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday we went to Iron Mills Farm to pick apples and pumpkins with some friends. It was a beautiful day, I love October here. It's cooler than California so it feels like Fall but not as cold as Utah, where it looks nice and sunny but it's freezing outside.
We went on a hay ride to get some apples. Bianca enjoyed picking them off of the trees, she would grab one with two hands and say, "Empuje" which means push in spanish, kind of close to pull right? It was cute. Most times she would pull so hard the apple would fall on the ground and then she would go get it. Wyatt got to pull one too, thanks to Daddy's help. We got 12 lbs. of apples, so I made pies and applesauce. We didn't get a chance to go to the pumpkin patch but we did get to pick a pumpkin out of this batch that was out in front:

Bianca and Leah next to a tractor tire, I was trying to show how big it is. Bianca is turning her head to get her hair out of her face. (She didn't want to let go of Leah's hand)

And here are our pumpkins. Somehow I always end up being the one who scoops out all the goo and carves them but that's ok with me, I like to do it. I don't think my faces are super creative though. The little one was going to be painted but we ended up carving that one too. And as expected Bianca gave each of them a kiss before we went up to bed that night, just like last year. She is so funny.

  2. How fun! I think we'll go to a straw maze here soon, but I don't know of any pumpkin patches in the area. Your carved pumpkins definitely look good. Way to go! Just my luck, when we do it, I'll have my two year old with the carving knife and my four year old holding her nose. Maybe we'll use markers?
