(Bianca and Mattie at Parky's farm. Mattie is in Bianca's nursery class and she loves to play with him. He is the cutest!)I've been meaning to post about Bianca, where do I begin.... She is such a big girl now. Always talking. While I drive she tells me things and says, "Mommy, did you know that?" She says, "Mommy I like to mix colors sometimes like yellow and red and that makes orange, did you know that?" Stuff like that. She is also starting to talk back. I told her she couldn't watch another Dora because Mommy wanted to watch a show so she left to color for about ten minutes then came back and said, "Now can I watch my freakin show?" !!!!!! I couldn't believe she said that. Mommy and Daddy need to watch our mouths!
(They have this garden at the farm and the kids can do their own watering, love it! )Bianca is potty trained! Except she still wears a pull up at night but at least she is willingly wearing panties during the day now and goes to the bathroom on her own. Yay! I was about to give up and then I read a parenting book that said just to keep pushing through and take all the diapers/pull ups away. She would go and switch them when she had panties on. So I did that and had many a struggles with her but this time persistence paid off. Thank goodness, note to self...

(This was a little tunnel made of plants and flowers. It probably has a certain term of which I am unaware, sorry): It was beautiful though and fun for the kiddies)
Bianca is now going to bed by herself in bed with one of us lying on the floor of her room, but instead she swapped us lying in bed with her to sneaking into our bed in the middle of the night, lovely. We have a couch in our room and decided to make her sleep on that. At least if she really is scared as she claims she won't have to be alone, but also we don't have to suffer by having her kick and roll all over us in the night.
(Pony rides are the best! Bianca went by herself for the first time, the pony was "just her size" as she put it)Bianca is a very good big sister. She reads to Wyatt all the time and plays with him. She has her bad moments as we all did with our siblings but overall she loves her brother. She likes to measure him with a tape measure and tell him he's growing. Then she stands behind me, back to back and says, "Mommy, I'm not as big as you yet, let's check again tomorrow." She tells me all the time that I can borrow her clothes when I get small like her. (:
We call Bianca our "herder". If we ever have company over she will gather everyone in the same room or small space and if possible lock us in together. She has always done this. She loves visitors, family, company in general. Oftentimes in the morning she will ask me who is coming over today? She tells me that she doesn't want to go to school, but I think bc of this aspect of her personality she will really enjoy it. We are holding off until next year because she wasn't potty trained and she didn't want to go. I want her to really be ready so that's ok. I say that with a grain of salt, the girl is attached at my hip at home. I trip on her often, seriously. She won't even watch a tv program without me, she actually pauses it until I sit with her. This is when I get my journaling, photo album/reading in.(Petting the goats. She was very brave and pet the animals first and then asked me to. )
Bianca knows all of her letters and numbers. She also knows some spanish, thanks to me and Dora. One day she said to me, "Your new name is Mochila, to which I replied, Ok, then your name is "pelota". She says open and close in spanish also and the other day while in Kroger she said, "Vamanos Mommy" I guess she was ready to check out.

As I stated earlier she loves to read to Wyatt. She doesn't actually read but she has a great memory and will even repeat the words correctly for many of the pages. Mostly she just tells the story as she remembers it. I love to listen to her. She also has always enjoyed music. She listens to the hymns and likes the song hey baby by Gwen Stefani, the new thing that she does is makes up different words with a familiar tune. Like the other day she was in the bath and she was singing the baptism song, you know Jesus came to John the baptist... but she said, "No Mommy, I'm not ready to....get out of the bath. Instead. Love it! So cute. Most days she spends her time playing Dr. with her little kit, buying things with her play computer (cash register) and grocery cart, reading, doing crafts, playing pewter (computer) and watching shows.
We just feel so blessed to have this little jewel in our lives and we think she is the most amazing person. We love you Bonk!
I love her too!! Gosh she is so smart and beautiful! I can't believe she can speak some spanish! Way to go Bonka! I was cracking up at the lines she said to you about you wearing her clothes and the pony that is just her size:)
ReplyDeleteSo fun!!! Noah wishes he could go with Bonk's to ride horses.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure. Makes all the hard work and moments of frustration so worth it to see them thrive and flourish. The bit about sharing her clothes with you cracked me up--and that is so sweet the way she "reads" to Wyatt.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun. Bianca is so cute. They always seem to amaze me when they start to talk and say what they are thinking...how cute.
