This is the first 4th of July in 2 years when Eric hasn't been sick with food poisoning. Somehow he always manages to get sick the day or couple of days before the 4th. Congratulations babe! You did it, or didn't do it, one of the two. So I decided to invite some people from our ward over for a barbecue and fireworks. Lucky for us they were up for it. I was like "Hey, we've never really hung out before but do you want to come over for a major holiday?" It's all good. So they were really fun to get to know and hang out with, Bianca had a BLAST. She loves to be around a lot of people, she was so excited to play with the other kids.

So I didn't know as I was driving around the 3rd of July looking for firework stands that there aren't any in Ohio. We ended up going to Sam's Club to get something else and I found a box of fireworks there. Much to my disappointment they were all smoke bombs, smoke volcano's, smoke anything and everything. Eric said we might as well have just bought some dry ice and put it in a bucket. Luckily our neighbors knew you could get fireworks in Indiana and spent like $2000 on some. They invited us to watch from our back yard. Above in the picture are some of the remains of the fireworks that they shot up and in the air turned into parachute's, they were really cool. Then when it got dark they had a full on firework show, it was AWESOME, a real show in our backyard!

Here is Eric making bunny ears at Tamra and Deanna is next to her in the pink skirt, two of the girls I invited over. Behind them is Tamra's hub Rob.

During the fireworks Wyatt just kept doing the same face and going OOOOOOOOO. It was super cute. This is the best picture I could get of it.

The next day we went to Winton Woods with some other friends, Teri and Randy and their son Eli. This is the same place where the water park is. They had a concert there so first we went to the water park for about an hour until it closed then we went to see the concert. It was a lot of fun.

It was cool to watch the old timers get out and shake their booties. Even some young ones were brave enough to get out there. We are gonna miss Teri and Randy when they go back to Indiana. Overall we had a really fun weekend and it was nice to have some Daddy time too. He got Friday off of work. Happy 4th of July 2008!
our weekend went up in smoke
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had some good fireworks. It's always nice to have neighbors that have the good stuff : ).
ReplyDeleteLOOKS LIKE FUN!! IT'S FUNNY WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT THE OLD TIMERS SHAKING THEIR BOOTIES- ITS SO TRUE- SEEMS LIKE WHEN THE YOUNG PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO DANCE AND LOOK GOOD DOING IT THEY ARE STILL NERVOUS GETTING OUT (NOT ALL BUT SOME)- MAYBE THE OLDER PEOPLE REALIZE- HECK- THEY BETTER GET OUT AND SHAKE IT WHILE THEY CAN:) HAHA
