Down the River

The other day we watched the movie "Prince of Egypt" with Bianca. She recently got her own illustrated Bible and learned about baby Moses and remembered this movie when she read it. In the story and the movie baby Moses's Mom has to send him away to protect him. She puts him in a basket and floats him down the river. Bianca had seen this movie many times before but later in the week it became evident that it bothered her. She was just coloring and out of the blue said, "Mommy, I don't want to go down the river." Perplexed I asked her what she was talking about. She said, "Like the show, I don't want to go in the river." Then I remembered the movie and I realized what she was talking about. I laughed and told her we would never float her down the river, and that we were going to keep her forever. She liked that response, then she said, "But what about Wyatt?" That really got me laughing.

  1. that's so funny- kids are so cute. I can see why she would be worried about it- she just doesn't understand the way things work today and of course can't comprehend the story of Moses yet. It's funny how things like that can bother people- happens to me too.
