This Christmas I took the liberty of putting up the tree while Daddy was at work. BIG MISTAKE. He was pretty upset about it when he got home, next year I'll make sure to do it as a family. Since we've had kids, we have used fake trees. I miss the real trees but I have to admit, the fake ones are a lot less work and a lot less mess. I remember my grandparents used to get that flocked kind, that's all white. Do they even have those anymore? Which kind of tree do you have?

Oh Christmas Tree
This Christmas I took the liberty of putting up the tree while Daddy was at work. BIG MISTAKE. He was pretty upset about it when he got home, next year I'll make sure to do it as a family. Since we've had kids, we have used fake trees. I miss the real trees but I have to admit, the fake ones are a lot less work and a lot less mess. I remember my grandparents used to get that flocked kind, that's all white. Do they even have those anymore? Which kind of tree do you have?

Look at you guys-all Christmas-y! We have no tree (I think we'll put one up when we get to Salt Lake.)and no presents! I had better get busy!
ReplyDeleteI love real trees:) We have a fake one to this year. I think it's good to have- I think I want to alternate between a real and fake on every year. When we have kids I want them to be able to have the experience of a real tree- I have to admit I do miss the smell- but a fake tree is nice too.
ReplyDeleteI love the real trees, but this year we're doing a fake one. We don't really have a tradition- we just end up doing what works best for us that year. Last year in our little NY apartment it was half of our fake tree on top of an end table. Ha!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. We still get the real deal, and yes, flocking is still available at some lots (at least still here) I wouldn't mind a fake one, but I don't want to store it all year.
ReplyDeleteThis year, we have ornaments on the top half of the tree only. Carter keeps pulling them off. I'll have to post a pic soon.

We put up a fake one that someone passed on to us, and it's nice, pre-lit and all, and TALL. But I've been having bad dust allergies and I pretty sure the tree's to blame. (That and I'm freaking out lately about lead in the PVC they use to make fake trees.) So one of the members of our ward works at a tree farm nearby (they're all over the place here in Oregon!) and he gave us a free real tree. So tomorrow we're going to undecorate the fake one and decorate the real one. And I guess it will be real trees for us from now on! (Long comment. I seem to be on a roll tonight!)
