Today was Wyatt's 2 month check up. He weighs more than I thought. 10 pounds 1 oz! When Bianca was this age she only weighed 7 lbs. We talked to the Dr. about his spitting up everytime we feed him and she gave us a sample of Enfamil AR, which has rice starch in it and is supposed to be really good for keeping the milk down. Also the nipple we were using on his bottle was too short, so the lactation consultant gave us some longer nipples and he was able to latch on better and he ate a whole bottle in 10 minutes, usually it was taking him a half hour at least. So hopefully he can get better feedings now and sleep longer(crossing our fingers). I read on other peoples blogs and baby forums how their babies are sleeping 5-7 hours at a time and they are complaining that they aren't sleeping through the night! Hello, those ladies are freaking lucky. Bianca woke up every two hours and Wyatt does the same. I'll let you know if the formula, feedings help his sleep. For the constipation the Dr. told us to add 2 ounces of pear juice to his bottle every day. Interesting, too bad pear juice is near impossible to find. He got his shots today and the rotavirus vaccine, it's a new one. I wanted him to take it because after going through Bianca having it, I would never wish that on my worst enemy, it was terrible. He seems cranky today but his legs aren't red, just have little knots in them from the shots. Bianca started to cry when they mentioned giving him shots. Needless to say we didn't let her see him get them.
Ah hes soo cute- how precious she started to cry at that- she really loves him:)
ReplyDeleteI hate those shots! At least they only scream for a few seconds, but it seems like forever. Harder for the mom than the baby, I think.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see he's doing well. Both your babies sure are dolls!
Do you have one of those vibrating sling chairs? That worked great for Carter in the middle of the night if I knew he wasn't hungry.
ReplyDeleteResponse to Jennifer: I have a bouncer, but I usually put him in the swing now if he isn't hungry and that works, I just hope he doesn't rely on the swing for sleeping all the time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like he's growing great! Good luck with the sleep deprivation. I don't have any advice; all I can say is it won't last forever! :)
